A Grandmothers Touch

Today my wonderful, beloved Grandma Riskedahl passed on from this life to her next. My heart is so sad at the thought of coming home to ND next time and her not being here in her house sitting in her chair sharing her wonderful sense of humor with us all. She has always lived just 3 miles down the road from me and has been a wonderful influence in my life. Just in the past month has she gone down hill and just last Wednesday we learned her condition was terminal. It has been shocking to come home this time and see the condition she was in all of a sudden. I'm so grateful that I was able to be here and hold her hand one more time and now be her to celebrate her life Saturday at her funeral. She was very sedated yesterday but still as I held her hand it was so warm and she squeezed to hold on so she knew we were there and loving her. I am grateful to have just arrived at the nursing home this afternoon just 15 minutes after her passing to hug her once more. I love her so much and will miss her more than words can describe.

Riskedahl Family

This is our new family photo - the last one we had was in 2005 so it was great we all 21 could be here together. This is me and my 3 sisters: Leesa, Jill, and Sally.

The next one is all 11 grandkids they have had so much fun this past week playing together. I think we had someone crying, hungry, and naked at all times!

The last one is all 21 of us - what a cute group. I love my family.

Christmas PJ's

This year for Christmas we have been at Ronda's parents in ND. Nana made all 11 grandkids matching flannel PJ'S to open and wear on Christmas Eve.
Thanks Nana for all your hard work.

Sorry everyone I realize I do not know how to turn these photos - I will keep working on it.
Anyway here are the 3 girls in their Christmas dresses. Pretty-Pretty-Pretty girls!!

Temple Square

Our annual trip to temple square in downtown Salt Lake. We like to take the girls there at Christmas time to see the lights and hear the words of the our Saviors birth. It is so beautiful to be there and walk around feeling the spirit of the Lord as we are with our family.

Piano Recital

Addison had her first piano recital on December 11. Her teacher is Kristen North and she goes every Wednesday after school. She was so nervous but looked beautiful in her Christmas dress. She played Jingle Bells, Away in the Manger, and Jolly Old St. Nicholas. We are very proud of how well she did.

The Day After Thanksgiving

The day after Thanksgiving we always decorate for Christmas. Here is the tree all done by our 3 cute Christmas elves! It is so fun to doing these kind of things when you have children. I love being a mom.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day. We spent this Thanksgiving with just the 5 of us at home. We had a nice relaxing day. While the turkey was cooking we went to Layton Park to feed the ducks and play in the leaves. It was getting cool but it was fun to be together. As you can see Brynja loved the Cool Whip!

Halloween

For Halloween this year my mom sewed the girls all new dresses. Addison was Sleeping Beauty, Brynja was Cinderella, and Kylee was Belle. They looked awesome. Thanks Nana

Ron's birthday

Ron inherited 2 four wheelers from his Dad in December 2006. Due to nursing and being pregnant I have not had the opportunity to learn to drive my machine. So on Ron's birthday in September he took the day off and we went to Farmington while my mom kept the baby and he taught me how to drive my yellow machine. All was going well until I drove over his leg mistaking the gas for the break!! Sorry honey but thanks for spending the day with me. I promise I'll get better.

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school. Addison left to start 3rd grade and Kylee to start 1st. They are now both gone all day long and I miss them. Brynja waits for them all day too. I'm glad they can go off to school and that they are growing and learning but I'm excited to welcome them home again at the end of their day.

Family Day

In August we took the girls up to Mirror Lake area for a day of hiking and fishing. We wanted to go camping this summer but felt like the baby was too small so we settled for a day trip and then sleeping in the back yard. The girls loved fishing and having a picnic.

Addison's Baptism Day

We are catching up a little on the blog so here we go:
Addison was baptized on May 31, 2008 in Layton, Utah by Ron. She was confirmed after by Papa Riskedahl. Grandma Christenson made her a beautiful dress to wear to the church and after the baptism and then surprised us by showing up on that day. Addison was actually baptized in the long white dress Nana made for her 4 daughters by in 1982. It was a really special day for our family and to have so many share it with us.
